Dear Paul, Greetings, in the strong name of Jesus Christ! I got a note from Nic Nelson to check out your blog, and I did. He told me that you were a TUMI student, and I want to encourage you in your study and reflection on the Word of God. To see things as they really are, and not as they appear, is a central discipline of our lives as disciples of Jesus (2 Cor. 4.17-18; 5.7; Heb 11.6). Your pthy one word blog tells the whole story of life: blahs!

We all have them, we all must face them, and we develop character as we go through them. I so appreciate your journey and testimony, and your intent to study the Word. Don't give up; your heart and vision come through your writing, and the Lord can, as you say in your bio, help us all find "the hope and power to change." God's word is strong; it will sustain you during the blahs periods of days.

It's great to meet you, and to read such a short but accurate blog post! May the Lord bless and keep you, and give you strength to endure, especially during the days of the "blahs," days that we all share--and grow through.

Don

Dear Paul,

Greetings brother. I too was encouraged reading over your blog, and you should know that Nic Nelson shared a bit of your story at a gathering of 30 pastors and leaders at the Los Angeles Urban Pastor's Association recently. You are not forgotten!

One of the things Dr. Don Davis often talks about is a "shared spirituality." We can stand together even when we are alone. One of the practical ways many TUMI grads and friends of TUMI do this is by reading through the Bible together every year and reading the same Psalm each week.

I am often encouraged reading the Scripture passage for the day as I think about others who are reading the same passage with me. When I pray the Psalm for the week each morning, I am encouraged thinking about others who are also praying that Psalm also.

The reading schedule and the Psalm for the week are available online at www.tumi.org, but there is also a book published annually called The TUMI Annual that has the reading plan in it. The 2014-2015 version should be coming out in about a month, and may be a resource that would be encouraging to you.

The Online Schedule is available here: http://www.tumi.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1317:week-13-feb-19-feb-25-2012&catid=55&Itemid=373

The Annual will be available at the TUMI store soon: http://www.tumistore.org/church-resources/

Praying for joy and peace for you today Paul,

Hank
